What is cryptocurrency?
In order to understand NFTs, we need to know what cryptocurrency is.
Why?
Because NFTs are bought and sold using one particular coin, Ethereum, and both are enabled by blockchain technology.
Bitcoin (also known as BTC) was created in 2009 and is the world’s largest cryptocurrency. There are thousands of other coins, including Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Cardano (ADA), XRP, and Dogecoin (DOGE). These other coins are collectively known as altcoins, as in ‘alternative’.
